Some species and cultivars are restricted; some require certification; some are prohibited entirely into particular jurisdictions. Seed Mate surfaces these conditions on every listing so both sides of a swap know what applies before they arrange delivery or pickup.

How advisories appear on a listing

When a species has an interstate condition that could affect a match, the listing shows a clearly labelled advisory. Advisories carry a severity level so you can tell an informational note from a restriction that would affect the swap:

• Info — general guidance you should be aware of.
• Caution — a condition applies; check the linked source before agreeing to send.
• Restricted — movement is limited or prohibited into one or more jurisdictions.

Guidance links to official sources

Every advisory links to the relevant state or territory biosecurity page so you can read the current condition in full. We keep the underlying data current, but the state authority is always the source of truth.
